If you are planning a Midterm Break with all the Family, we've put together a list of some of the family-friendly events taking place throughout Galway. As proud sponsors of MACNAS - YOUNG ENSEMBLE, the highlight for us has to be the annual Macnas Parade that takes to the streets on Sunday 28th October. Here's some of the highlights from last year to give you a taste of what is to come.
Hallowe’en is coming to Brigit’s’ Garden, and they invite all the family to dress in their scariest Hallowe’en outfit for an afternoon of Ghoulish Arts & Crafts, Spooky Storytelling, Hunting for The Púca, Witchery in the Roundhouse and the grand finale, everybody’s favourite - a Bonfire to celebrate Samhain.
Due to huge demand last year, there will be two dates, 28th and 29th October, running from 3pm to 6pm. And booking in advance is advisable.
The Macnas Halloween Parade is a highlight of Ireland’s cultural calendar in October, and the Galway Parade is the largest free event in the West of Ireland. Over 40,000 people line the streets every year to be awed and amazed by this epic scale of storytelling, as the company unleashes creative chaos and invention.
Taking place on Sunday 28th October 2018 at approximately 5.30pm throughout the streets of Galway. Macnas are master storytellers who inspire and engage audiences by creating big, bold, visual shows and performances through world-class theatrical spectacle. We're sure that this years parade will be yet again a spectacular showstopper to aww and inspire and capture the imagination of young and old with their usual energy and creative designs.
