We are on track to achieve the Gold Award with Green Hospitality Ireland and have developed a future long-term plan to become a carbon neutral hotel.
Our Green Policy
As part of our commitment to becoming a more eco-friendly hotel we are implementing effective green practices and procedures throughout our business.
Our green journey began back in 2018 and together we have developed our 5 C’s sustainability strategy to deliver a more sustainable and green, environmentally friendly service.

Your carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases that are generated by your actions.
What does it mean to offset your ecological impact?
Offsetting your ecological impact is a way to compensate for your emissions by funding an equivalent carbon dioxide saving elsewhere.
At The Connacht Hotel we are always actively looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact. That’s why we’re encouraging our guests to help us, by making a voluntary donation to offset the ecological impact of your stay.

Our Corporate Offer
With our corporate offer, we're committing to offset the impact of any corporate guests overnight stay or meeting room booking with us.
We have calculated the average CO2 omission from a corporate stay and average meeting delegate experience and will plant trees to offset this impact.
We want to help support corporate companies make green choices as we all get back to doing business.
Hometree
Every year our employees choose a range of charities which they would like to support. This year we have chosen Hometree as one of our supporting charities.
Hometree is a local Irish charity working to establish and conserve permanent native woodland in Ireland, encouraging land regeneration and biodiversity through afforestation, restoration and education.
Each Connacht Hospitality Group employee, on their brithday will be gifted a tree planted on their behalf to help reduce our environmental impact.
Our guests can also voluntarily contribute during your stay with us. Every voluntary donation we get will go directly to Hometree.
