Clarenbridge Oyster Festival

Since its debut in 1954, this cherished festival has grown into a must-visit event, offering a perfect blend of fantastic food, lively entertainment, and local charm.
Nestled along the scenic Claren River, the festival is renowned for its delectable oysters, freshly harvested from the pristine waters of Dunbulcan Bay. With over 100,000 oysters enjoyed over the weekend, it's no surprise that these world-class shellfish are a highlight of the event. Cannonball Run 2024

September 7

Get ready for an unforgettable spectacle as the annual Cannonball Run revs into Galway on September 7, 2024! This thrilling event, featuring a convoy of 190 supercars, will make a grand entrance in Salthill at 6pm as part of its exhilarating three-day tour across Ireland.
After their arrival, the convoy will enjoy dinner and an overnight pitstop in Salthill, offering spectators plenty of time to admire these incredible vehicles up close. The excitement continues the next morning, as the Cannonball convoy gathers at Ballybrit in Galway at 11am on Sunday, September 8th, to kick off another thrilling day on the road.
