We have a long-standing commitment to rigorous cleaning procedures which is now being expanded with COVID-19 protocols - many of which are already in place, and reflect the advice of the HSE and local public health authorities. You can expect to see updated procedures in every area of the hotel, which include:


Reduced contact at check-in, touchless transactions, front desk screens, sanitiser stations, sanitised key-cards, paperless check-out.

      What are the check in/checkout times of the hotel?

      Check in is available from 3.30pm onwards. Check out is 11.30am. Early Check ins & Late check outs can be arranged with our reservations and reception teams. The cost of an Early check in between 10am-3.30pm is €25.00. The cost of a Late check out of 2pm is €25.00. This is subject to availability. Please call +353 91 381200 for further information.

      Is id required on check-in?

      Yes, ID is required upon check-in and must match the name on the reservation. A passport or drivers licence is accepted. Reservations cannot be amended at check-in unless ID is provided by the booker.  Please note under 18's cannot stay in the hotel unless travelling with a parent/guardian.


      Can I leave my luggage in reception if I arrive before check in starts?

      Yes, we can store your luggage if you arrive to the hotel before 3.30pm; there is no charge for this service.

      We are located on the Dublin Road in Renmore (R388) as you enter Galway City. The Connacht Hotel is located just over 2 km from Galway city centre and Eyre Square. We are within walking distance of the Eye cinema, G hotel, Bon Secours Hospital, Galway Hospice and GMIT College.

      How do I get there?

      Bus Eireann city bus pass the hotel every 10-15 minutes throughout the day until 11.30pm. You can take the 409 Parkmore bus, the 402 Merlin Park bus or the 410 Oranmore bus from the city centre to the hotel. Taxis are also available by calling Big O taxis on (091) 585858.

      I’m booking for someone else, how do I pay for their stay?

      If a booking is made direct on our website and you wish to pay with a company card, please email reservations - , or call us on +353 91 381200, please press 1 for reservations. We can arrange payment via a secure link . Please note we do not accept payments over the phone.


      How do I book using a voucher?

      To book using a Connacht gift card or gift voucher please have your voucher number to hand and contact our reservations team on +353 91 381200, please press 1 for reservations. Or you can email your enquiry to Your voucher will be required on check in as a method of payment.


      Do you have free parking?

      Yes, we have ample free parking at The Connacht. There is parking at the front and rear of the hotel and also in our underground car park with direct access to the hotel. Wheelchair accessible spaces are also available.


      Do you have wifi?

      Yes, wifi is free for all guests and available in all bedrooms and throughout the hotel.


      Do I need a credit card to make a reservation?

      Yes, we require a credit card or debit card for all reservations. This guarantees your room until your arrival date. Your card will not be charged until you arrive at the hotel, unless we require a security deposit prior to arrival (group bookings only).  If you cancel your reservation outside our cancellation policy, you will be charged for the first nights stay.


      What is The Connacht Hotel's cancellation policy?

      We require 48 hours notice to cancel a room free of charge. If you cancel your reservation outside our cancellation policy, you will be charged for the first nights stay.  This applies to bookings made directly on our hotel website, or bookings made over the phone.  Our cancellation policy for raceweek and apartment bookings is 7 days. For third party bookings, please consult the website.


      How do I make a reservation for a large group? (Hen party, stag party, sports club etc.)

      What security deposit is required for group bookings?

      With all leisure groups of 3 rooms or more, we require a €25.00 per person security deposit , up to a maximum of €400 . Which is collected 3 days before the groups arrival date, and must be collected in one amount. We require a pre authorisation of a credit card, or payment on a debit card. This pre authorisation will be released on departure/ debit card refunded when all rooms have been checked for damages. We do not accept payment per person for the deposit; it will need to be collected in advance by the group organiser.


      Does The Connacht Hotel accept pets?

      We do accept guide dogs, but not other animals.


      Is the hotel wheelchair accessible?

      The hotel is fully wheelchair accessible. We have many accessible bedrooms available, with wet rooms. To book this room type please call reservations directly on +353 91 381200.

      Are there fridges in the bedrooms?

      Fridges are available in the suites & apartments only. We do have a fridge for guests use at reception for medicines, baby bottles etc.


      Can I request a smoking room?

      We are a non-smoking hotel.


      Do all guests have free access to the leisure centre?

      Yes, all our guests have complimentary use of Active 24 Fitness & Leisure Club.  You can enjoy our 20 metre pool, kiddies’ pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and fully equipped 24 hour gym. PLEASE NOTE: There may be some restrictions in place to services in the short term. 

      Children Under 11 Years -  must be accompanied into the pool and supervised by a responsible adult.
      Children 12 Years  - 16 Years  - are permitted to use the swimming pool unaccompanied by an adult.
      And Children aged 8 yrs and older must use gender appropriate changing facilities.

      The swimming pool opening times are: Mon – Fri 06.30 – 22.00 and Sat/Sun 08.00 – 22.00. Children are not permitted in the pool after 8pm. 


      Do all guests have free access to the 24 hours gym?

      Visitors aged 16 Years and older are permitted entry into the gym. Children are not permitted in the Gym.


      What time is breakfast/lunch/dinner served?

      Breakfast is served daily from 7am-10.30am Monday - Sunday. Lunch is served from 12.00-17.00. Dinner is served from 17.00-21.30. Pizza is available Pizza 12.00 –9.30pm in Ruebens Restaurant and 12.00 - 11pm in Bar Solo  and on our Room Service Menu. We do not take reservations for dinner unless it is a large group. To make a dinner booking for a large group please call us on (091) 381251.


      How much is breakfast?

      A Full Irish Breakfast is €12.00 per adult, Continental Breakfast is €9.00 per adult & Children's Breakfast €5.00 per child.


      Do you offer self catering?

      We have self catering apartments for guests wishing to stay over 7 nights. We have 1 & 2 bedroom apartments. Please be advised that in July and August we have a 2 night minimum stay for apartments. Please call or email to make an enquiry. 

      We also have Family Suites which are ideal for family breaks or guests who require longer term accommodation or self-catering in Galway.  Consists of an en-suite bedroom with 1 King Size Bed and an adjoining Bedroom with a Double and Single Bed and a Kitchenette.

      Is There a defibrillator located in the Connacht hotel?

      Yes, there are two defibrillators located in the Connacht Hotel Galway.  One behind the main hotel reception desk and one in Active Fitness, beside the disabled toilets, near the ground floor reception.
