PSYCHIC SALLY
1 April
Psychic Sally visits Galway on April 1st for her live show in Galway. Appearing at the Town Hall Theatre, she will bring her unique show to life for what's expected to be a large audience. Sally has appeared on television and stage many times over the corse of her career, and she is well known for her entertaining presence. An interesting night is in store!
EASTER EGG HUNT AT BRIGIT’S GARDEN
9 April
Make Easter 2023 extra special with a visit to Brigit’s Garden. This is a get-together that the whole family can enjoy, and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic day out for everyone. For the little ones, there will be a Mini Hunt, while for the older children the Mighty Hunt promises to be equally as eggciting! You’ll explore the gardens, enjoy face painting, make Easter decorations, and if you’re very lucky…you’ll meet the Easter Bunny, too!
SUPERMAN (45th ANNIVERSARY SCREENING)
10th April
Who doesn’t love Superman? With this special 45th anniversary screening, you can channel your inner superhero as you travel back to 1978 to watch Christopher Reeve don the famous red cape and do battle with baddies. A classic film, it’s one you might want to enjoy with the whole family as you take a break from exploring all the many gems that Galway has to offer.
GALWAY UNITED vs. BRAY WANDERERS
14 April
Live soccer at Eamonn Deacy Park on April 14th means The Tribesmen will look to keep their fantastic start to the League of Ireland season going. Galway United welcome Bray Wanderers for this home fixture on the banks of the River Corrib, and it’s expected to be a fantastic encounter. With kick-off scheduled for 7:45 pm, this would be a great way to round off a fun day in Galway!
CONNACHT RUGBY vs CARDIFF BLUES
15 April
There’s little wonder that rugby fever has taken hold of so many. Following Ireland’s heroics at the Six Nations, the excitement is growing all around the country. The Sportsground will see Connacht Rugby welcome Cardiff Blues on April 15th – with kick-off set for 7:35 pm – and a fiercely contested battle is expected between the two sides. If you’re lucky, you might see some of Ireland’s international heroes like Bundee Aki take to the field and score a few tries!
DECLAN NERNEY
16 April
For a night of easy-listening music, you’re sure to enjoy a concert from Irish music legend Declan Nerney. Taking place on April 16th at the Town Hall Theatre, this two-hour show will see Declan joined by special guests John Hogan and Owen Mac. This is a must for country music fans everywhere, and it’s sure to be a night to remember.
CÚIRT 2023
18 April – 23 April
We all love the buzz around Galway for the Cúirt International Festival of Literature! Starting on April 18th and finishing up on April 23rd, this six-day extravaganza of stories, writing craft, and expression is sure to wow, educate and intrigue. Featuring everything from poetry, to workshops, to children’s stories, it certainly has something for a diverse audience.
GALWAY vs WEXFORD
22 April
For more live sport, a visit to Pearse Stadium, Salthill, should be on the cards. A great way to spend an afternoon together, this promises to be a pulsating, all-action event. This will be Round 1 of the Leinster Hurling Championship, and it ought to be a thrilling spectacle between two sides hungry for a victory to set the tone for the rest of the Championship.
CLIFDEN TRADITIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL
13 - 16 April
Taking place from April 13th to April 16th, the Clifden Traditional Music Festival will take centre stage. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Connemara, it is set to be yet another few days of fantastic music, live concerts, workshops, and more.
CONOR BYRNE, LIVE
29 April
Conor Byrne is one of Ireland’s most promising young musicians, and he is coming to Galway for a night of raw vocals and stunning music towards the end of the month. Originally from County Kerry, Conor is a soulful performer who blends production pop with an organic sound that is sure to go down a treat with audiences. This is a gig not to be missed on April 29th, so go ahead and grab your tickets today.
