Spooky season is almost upon us, so now is the perfect time to get planning your family's mid-term break. There is no shortage of fun activities in Galway this Halloween, with all these events to choose from, you are sure to find the perfect entertainment for your little ones!

Galway Pumpkin Patch

Ardrahan
4 weekends from October 8th

The best place to find your Halloween pumpkin, in all shapes, colours and sizes! The Galway Pumpkin Patch is held on the ground of the beautiful Castletaylor estate, in Ardahan, South Galway. A wonderful day out for all the family, this attraction is the only of its kind held in the west and is more than just getting your hands on the perfect Halloween pumpkin! Kids can meet the many farm animals, such as goats, sheep, and a Shetland pony, as well as some new additions.

They can also meet Mickey and Minnie mouse and might even spot a fairy in the fairy garden! There are lots of games to be enjoyed at the patch, like a round of crazy golf, ring the bull and throw the beanbag. This scenic attraction is the perfect place to take beautiful insta-worthy snaps and make precious memories with your little ones. This is a ticketed event, and tickets will go on sale in early September.

Spooky Treasure Hunt - Halloween at Brigit’s Garden

Brigit’s Garden, Moycullen
29th October – 6th November

What could get you into the spooky spirit more than a spooky treasure hunt at Brigit’s Garden in Roscahill? This Ghastly Ghouls’ Spooky Treasure Huntcan be done any time over the mid-term break and is a lovely activity for all the family to get involved in. Follow the clues, brave the mummy in the crannóg and the coffin in the chamber, and collect the letters for a magic spell to get rid of them! Collect all the clues and help get rid of the spell that was cast on the gardens by the nasty Púca!

Witchery in the Roundhouse. Visit the Wacky Witch at her smoking cauldron to help her create special potions and spells! (Only available on Sunday 30th and Monday 31st)

Spooky Fest at Loughwell Farm Park

Loughwell, Moycullen 
From 3rd October

Spooky Fest is an enjoyable day of family-friendly horror in Moycullen. Kids can take part in an interactive spooky house experience with the wonky Witches, Winnie, and Wanda, by helping them find magic ingredients and make a spell to help find the missing broomstick!

As well as the Spooky fest, Loughwell is home to many friendly animals, and has a large indoor and outdoor play area, with many activities for kids to enjoy.

Family Howl-O-Ween Festival

Sliabh Aughty Centre
29th October – 6th November

It’s that spooky time of the year and Slieve Aughty have decided to join in on the fun with their Halloween Festival. With ghosts and goblins galore, haunted houses, Halloween tricks and treats, scary stories, horses and ponies to pet and ride, arts and crafts, Halloween Evening Kids Disco Party and Charity Bank Holiday Monday, there’s something for all the little ones to enjoy.

Looking for something to keep the older kids occupied, try their walk to the haunted house and dare yourself to see if the corpse of the lady with the velvet ribbon is still there (a NEW story for 2022.

Halloween Treat at Turoe Pet Farm

Turoe Pet Farm, Moycullen
30th – 31st October

Visit Turoe Pet Farm this Halloween and get the chance to feed and cuddle their adorable animals. With face painting, balloon modelling as well as their kid’s disco with DJ Corky and special mascots it’s sure to be a spooktacular experience for all the kids. Turoe Pet Farm also boast fantastic all weather facilities, so you don’t have to worry about the weather during your trip, as well as their inflatable city, jungle town and Astro turf pitch!
