STREET SPECTACULAR
Galway International Arts Festival’s street spectacle programme mesmerises Galway each year, as families turn out in their thousands to enjoy free fun shows on the city’s streets.
The People Buildin Eyre Square is a FREE event. Build it up, then knock it all down—it’s not just for kids!
Birdmen - They’ll traverse the streets of Galway alongside spectators and visitors on Friday 20th, Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd July at various time. Check out GIAF for details.
THEATRE
Sparking imagination, encouraging communication and improving concentration - the performing arts can have endless benefits for children. GIAF’s theatre programme features lots for little ones to experience and enjoy, often creating life-long fans of the theatre!
Humans, from 24th - 29th July. Don't miss the chance to view the Australian performance company Circa perform what has been described as "Stunning... heart-stopping acrobatics".
VISUAL ARTS
Carefully chosen and curated to entertain and educate, GIAF’s visual arts programme astounds each year, with lots to interest inquiring little minds.
Miracoco Luminarium, from 20-28 July in Eyre Square is Suitable (and captivating!) for all ages, the Miracoco Luminarium is an inflatable walk-in sculpture and a unique sensory experience.
Museum of the Moon. Artist Luke Jerram’s stunningly realistic lunar model gives viewers the chance to see the moon up-close and is an immersive sensory experience.
