Bus Transfers to Galway Races

Get to and from the Galway Racecourse in Ballybrit with ease. We have onsite, complimentary parking and bus transfers for €10.00 (Return) to Ballybrit for our hotel guests. 

The bus will operate to and from the Race Course from Wednesday to Saturday. Exact times to be advised.

Racing Highlights

The eagerly anticipated week long Summer Racing Festival kicks off on Monday 29th July. This is the 150th anniversary of the iconic festival and promises to be a festival to remember. 

Monday 29th July - Gather your Tribe Day. First Race: 5.20pm.
Tuesday 30th July is known as Sports and Social Day, the seven race card again kicks off at 5:20pm. And also includes the  celebrity ‘Paddy Power Zorbing Derby’  in aid of the Injured Jockeys Fund.
It’s a slightly earlier start on Wednesday 31st July, Galway Plate Day with the first of a 7 race card starting at 5:10pm.

Thursday1st August is one of the social highlights of the year in Ireland, Ladies Day, the fashionistas of Ireland descend on Ballybrit to see who is crowned Best Dressed Lady First race 1.40pm.

Friday 2nd August is a very popular evening meet, the My Fair Lady Day with a 5:10pm start for the seven races. Friday also plays host to the elegant and stylish  ‘Friday’s Most Stylish Competition’.

Saturday 3rd August is a Family Day and an earlier meet the first of seven races start at 2:00pm.

Family Days will take place on Saturday and Sunday of the Summer Festival Meeting 2019. Fun and colour is the theme for these spectacular days with children admitted free of charge. There is lots of entertainment for the young racegoer including bouncy castles, a children’s disco, slides, face painting and crazy characters throughout the enclosure.

Sunday 4th August also includes the Mad Hatters Day competition which adds an element of fun. First race is at 2:15pm.
