International Arts Festival for Children
Based in Galway on Ireland’s West Coast, Baboró International Arts Festival for Children is Ireland’s flagship international arts festival devoted exclusively to children and families. In its 23rd year now the festival continues to go from strength to strength. Ahead of Galway 2020 kicking off next year the festival plays an integral role in fostering culture and an appreciation of the arts amongst the next generation in Galway.
14th - 20th October 2019
The festival includes local and international acts, with theatre, dance, music, art, books and participative workshops happening from the 14th to 20th of October across the city. Events are broken down by age with acts such as Hermit – a non verbal physical performance which is ideal for preschool to Senior Infants or Rockin’ Ehymes – a musical adventure featuring nursery rhymes as you’ve never heard them before, aimed at 3 years and over. In addition there are workshops such as the Wonder Emporium, Robotics Workshop, Through the Microscope and lots more.
The festival will be held across a host of Galway’s most iconic venues such as, Nun’s Island Theatre, An Taibhdhearc, The Town Hall Theatre, The Mick Lally Theatre, The Black Box, The Galway City Library, Aras Na nGael, The Spanish Arch, Portershed, Pálás Cinema and lots more.
