Hand in Hand

Hand in Hand is a non-profit organisation which provides the families of children with cancer with much-needed practical support. They support families who are affected by childhood cancer by giving them access to professional service providers. By availing of the services, families find they have more precious time to spend with their children rather than trying to keep on top of household chores. They are unique in that we are the only organisation that offers this type of practical support to children and their families throughout their cancer treatment.

Galway Hospice

The Galway Hospice is a wonderful example of “community in action”.  Of the major voluntary hospice providers in Ireland, it is the only hospice service that was not founded by a Religious Congregation.  It owes its origins and continuing existence to a level of community engagement and recurring financial support that is unparalleled in other parts of the country.  This has enabled Galway Hospice to weather the storm of difficult economic and operational circumstances, to become the leader in the promotion of certified care standards within the hospice sector in Ireland.

The staff of the Connacht Hospitality Group ran a whole host of events throughout the year including a very popular Bingo night in Hyde Bar, a raffle during the annual Corrib Princess outing, there was also an Employee Walk, Charity Cycle, Table Quiz, and Active 24 Fitness the groups 24 hour gym held a number of fundraisers including a cake sale to contribute to the overall total which was divided between the three groups. Voting is taking place to select this year’s charities at the moment for what will surely be another very successful year of events and fundraisers.
