Menu

The festive season is in full swing this week at the hotel but our spirits were dampened by the news from Connacht Rugby this week...

christmas parties at the crib

So we survived our first weekend of Christmas Parties, after all the planning and preparation the weekend couldn’t have gone any better. It was such a pleasure to have so many companies join us in The Crib, our Christmas Party venue. The feedback has been wonderful and we must thank the bands which were fantastic both nights and our comedian the hilarious Steve Bennett. We are already looking forward to this weekends festivities. www.theconnacht.ie

get your skates on

Nothing quite gets you in the Christmas spirit like a spot of ice skating. Wrapped up nice and warm taking to the ice like Thorvil and Dean or a baby giraffe depending on your level. This year ice-skating returns to Galway bigger and better than ever with a 600 square metre REAL ICE ice rink fully housed in a 1080 square metre all weather marquee in the grounds of Leisureland at Salthill, Galway. That means that rain, hail or snow you and your friends will be able to skate away to your heart’s content on the biggest temporary, REAL ICE ice rink to be installed in Connacht this year. Rugby shock

The world of rugby was plunged into shock this week when Connacht Rugby announced that this would be Pat Lam’s last season at the Sportsground. It was later revealed that he would be taking up the head coaches position at Bristol Rugby. He is leaving behind an incredible legacy and amazing memories. Not only will we always cherish the charge to the Pro12 title but the style with which Connacht won that trophy will always be a source of immense pride to fans of the boys in Green. We at the Connacht Hotel would like to wish Pat the very best with his future endeavors and thank him for all that he has done for the province. Read the full story here
