9 night stay in a "self-service apartment" room. Staff was excellent, from front desk to housekeeping, all were pleasant and attentive. Room was pretty standard but nice. Overall, hotel seems in good shape but could use some updating. The carpeting in the halls and room looks worn and dated. Food and service in the restaurant were both very good. Getting into Galway City was easy with the bus stop about a 4 minute walk from the front of the hotel. Our room faced the back of the hotel (in D wing) and was very quiet with great views of the morning sky (and not so great view of tour buses parked there.) My only suggestion, other than some decor updates, would be to have more servicing of the apartment style rooms. We only had the room serviced twice for our 9 night stay. I would definitely stay at the Connacht hotel if in Galway in the future.
