Another month brings another list of fun, engaging, and memorable events taking place across Galway. April means we are edging towards Summer, but it also means lots more amazing get-togethers, events, and interesting family-friendly happenings. So, join us as we run through the latest edition of ‘What’s on in Galway’!
GALWAY UNITED VS. BOHEMIANS
April 1
Galway United were far and away the best team in the League of Ireland First Division last season, and they continue their 2024 Premier Division campaign with another tough task. Facing the Eamonn Deacy Park faithful this time are the travelling Bohemian FC who will be looking to return to Dublin with all three points.
GALWEGIANS VS. TULLAMORE
April 5
Introduce some sporting action to your pre-weekend mood as Galwegians play host to Tullamore at Crowley Park in the Energia All-Ireland League. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic occasion between two talented teams, but who will emerge victorious? Kick off is at 2.30pm.
HYDE'S BOTTOMLESS AFTER DARK
April 5
It's all happening on Friday, April 5th from 7 pm 'til late, and we can't wait to enjoy the music, the food, and the one-of-a-kind ambience with you. If you can think of them, we'll probably be playing their hits - from the Queen of Rock to the Queen of Pop, together with so many of today's record-breaking female artists. You'll also enjoy a sharing board and bottomless* prosecco to really elevate your night out.

THE TUMBLING PADDIES - LIVE
April 6
Get ready for a rip-roaring show as The Tumbling Paddies come to town. This group of musicians are incredible at what they do, and they are sure to put on a stellar performance at the Black Box Theatre on April 6th. There’s a big crowd expected for one of the best shows of the year so far, so make sure you grab tickets before they’re all sold out.
AN PÚCÁN'S RETRO SILENT DISCO

You know the drill by now, we give you a pair of quality headphones, we spin the tracks across multiple channels, and all you have to do is find your spot out on the floor – and dance! An Púcán’s Silent Discos are the stuff of legendary craic, and we’re really excited to bring you the latest one live from our Forster Street location in the heart of Galway City.
NITRO STUNTSHOW 2024

Are you all set for another high-octane, pulsating, ho holds-barred afternoon of excitement? The Nitro Stuntshow 2024 comes to the Galway Racecourse on April 20, and it will once again be a fantastic day out for all the family. Expect thrills, stunts, and all kinds of amazing feats of motor-related action. With monster trucks galore and so much more to see, you’ll be spoiled for fun!
CONNACHT RUGBY VS. ZEBRE PARMA
April 20
Connacht Rugby play host to Zebre Parma at The Sportsground in the United Rugby Championship. Kick off is at 7:35 pm, so make sure you get in early to grab your spot. Located a short distance from the Connacht Rugby Sportsground, The Connacht Hotel is the ideal location to stay or dine if you are planning to go to this hotly contested game.
AN AMERICAN IN PARIS: THE MUSICAL AT EYE CINEMA

April 23-28
Galway is always a feast for the literature-lovers among us, and the Cúirt International Festival of Literature is the biggest page-turner you could hope for. Featuring voices from across poetry, fiction, non-fiction, and more, it is a wholly diverse few days of incredible writing. Across the week-long bonanza of readings, workshops, performances, and more, you’re sure to find plenty to keep you engaged and interested throughout.
