CLIONA HAGAN – THE DOLLY SONGBOOK

2 March

March 2nd sees Cliona Hagan bring some of Dolly Parton’s most recognisable numbers to life. This fantastic show promises to be an unforgettable one as Cliona’s amazing vocals are complemented by the talented Sheerin Family Band. You’ll hear hits like ‘9 to 5’, ‘Jolene’, and ‘I Will Always Love You’. A magical performance is in store for you!

GALWAY UNITED WOMEN VS WEXFORD YOUTHS WFC

4 March

There’s nothing like live sport – and on March 4th, you can experience the thrill, excitement, and passion of a Women’s National League game as Galway United Women welcome Wexford Youths WFC. The game is set to kick off at 2 pm on the day – and Eamonn Deacy Park will be the venue for what’s expected to be a fiercely contested encounter.

MATILDA JR. THE MUSICAL

5 March

The all-singing, all-dancing Matilda Jr. The Musical comes to Galway on March 5th, and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic day out for all the family. The 75-minute show is based on Roald Dahl’s timeless classic Matilda and follows the journey of Matilda as she takes control of her own future. With two showings on the same day, you can choose afternoon or evening entertainment, whichever suits you best.

CELTIC SPIRIT CHEER & DANCE COMPETITION

11 March

Taking place at the Kingfisher Club at the University of Galway on March 11th, the Celtic Spirit Cheer and Dance Competition promises to be as entertaining as always as athletes compete to showcase their skills. In March 2021, the competition had 500 athletes compete, and organisers are hoping to have approximately 600 athletes this year now that clubs are back up and running.

IT’S MAGIC WITH JOE THE MAGICIAN

12 March

Bring some magic into your Galway stay with Joe the Magician! From 2 pm on March 12th, Joe will dazzle you with intrigue, tricks, and illusion. You’re sure to be spellbound by his masterful act as he moves from one sleight of hand to the next. A fantastic show for kids to enjoy, it’s a fun and absorbing performance from RTÉjr’s AbraKIDabra that will surely live long in the memory.

CLEMENTS HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR AT ST. NICHOLAS’ CHURCH

15 March

Make St. Nicholas’ Collegiate Church your destination on March 15th as the Clements High School Choir brings their dulcet tones to the intimate setting for an afternoon performance. From 1 pm on the day, they will bring sacred, spiritual, and traditional songs to life for a free live concert.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY FESTIVAL 2023

17 – 19 March

Start your Galway St. Patrick’s Day celebrations by taking in the colourful, characterful, and charming parade. Pick your favourite spot along the route and enjoy the fun as it unfolds. Afterwards, enjoy some family entertainment at Eyre Square, take a trip out to Salthill to savour the sights as well as a few hours at the amusements, and paint yourself green for the day that’s in it.

CELEBRATION IRELAND

23 – 24 March

Being proud of your Irish roots doesn’t have to end after the St. Patrick’s Day Festival. Acclaimed playwright Tommy Marren’s new stage show Celebration Ireland is an entertaining two-hour spectacle filled with nostalgia and memories that will have you waving the tricolour with vigour.

CONNACHT RUGBY VS. EDINBURGH RUGBY

25 March

With rugby excitement reaching fever pitch, there’s little excuse needed to attend the Sportsground on March 25th as Connacht Rugby welcome Edinburgh Rugby. This United Rugby Championship contest sees the home side look to move towards the top half of the table. Will you be there to cheer them on?

The GALWAY CYCLE 2023

31 March – 2 April

Beginning on March 31st and finishing on April 2nd, the Galway Cycle will see participants get on their bikes from Maynooth to Galway. This year, funds are being raised for the worthwhile charity ‘As Darragh Did’.
