The 40th Clifden Arts Festival runs from the 13th Sept until the 24th Sept and has a fantastic schedule of events to cater for all artistic persuasions. Roundstone native Ciara King, well known radio personality from the Chris and Ciara Show and her role on Tv3’s 6 o clock show, launches her new book at the Station House Theatre next Monday the 18th at 7pm. gaa all ireland football final
Galway Women's Football Club

The big sporting event of the weekend is the All Ireland football final. All eyes will be on GAA headquarters this Sunday as Mayo hope to end the 66 year famine. This year has been more of a marathon than a sprint for the Mayo men as they have definitely taken the scenic route to the showpiece in the GAA crown. Since suffering defeat to Galway in a wet and blustry Salthill the team have grown in stature game by game culminating in a memorable semi final victory over a heavily fancied Kerry team. The only thing in the way of Stephen Rochfords men is probably the greatest every football team Dublin.

The boys in blue are looking for a third crown in a row and the bookies are predicting that this is the likely outcome, only time will tell. The game will be shown live on the big screen in Bar Solo this Sunday.
