Thursday 7th of June see’s our fourth themed evening in Rubens Restaurant. After the success of our past themed nights the Spanish, Indian and Moroccan we are really looking forward to this one. Our chef’s have put together a delicious authentic menu which will delight fans of Italian cuisine. Each diner will also receive a complimentary bottle of Peroni to enjoy with your meal. If you’re in or around Galway this June Bank Holiday weekend, are looking for something to do and want to support a worthy cause, then you might be interested in heading along to the FivesForLives Charity 5-a-side tournament. The Connacht Hotel is proud to be a sponsor of this fantastic event. Taking place in Salthill Park on Saturday, June 3, 32 men’s teams and eight women’s teams will battle it out for the FivesForLives title on a day that promises to be plenty of fun for all the family.

A family zone has also been organised which will have live music from 12.30-4pm, two food trucks, a coffee and ice-cream stand, a face painter, a balloon maker, a sweet shop and guest appearances from Mickey Mouse, Olaf, Spiderman characters, The Galway Player and Eddie the Eagle, the much-loved Connacht Rugby mascot.

After a dissappointing defeat to Bohs last weekend Galway United are on the road this weekend. Friday night they head to take on Derry City. Galway Utd will be hoping to get at least a point on their travels with things being so tight at the bottom this seaon every single point is vital. Galway Soccer Co-Op are running a supporters bus to Galway United’s next league game against Derry City at Maginn Park (June 2nd). Kick-off: 7.45pm. Seats on the bus can be booked by contacting Stephen Dowling at 086-2361040 or Ronan Coleman at 087-6972823. The bus will depart from The Dáil Bar at 2.30pm sharp. Return bus fares are: Adult €25, student (with ID) €20, secondary school student €15, under-12’s €10.
