Lovers of Gin – mark your diary – as The Latin Quarter in Galway city will play host to ‘Gin Fest’ a 4 day celebration of all things related to Gin from Thursday 30th March – Sunday 2nd April 2017!

Promising a weekend of gin-joyment, a range of events will be taking place in the bars throughout the Latin Quarter such as; Master Classes and Tastings, Gin Afternoon Tea, Gin Trails, Food & Gin Pairings, Gin Cocktails & Competitions, Blind Tastings, New Gin launches, Gin Experientials, along with Gins & Reels Music Sessions to name but a few and including a range of free workshops.

The focus of the festival is to encourage people to try a variety of gin and tonic brands now available on the market, from Irish to international creations. There will also be a focus on the education side of how gin is made for both the trade and public, learning about the perfect serve when choosing garnishes for various types of gin and how tonics enhance the flavour of your drink. In essence you’ll be a ‘ginius’ at the end of the festival. For more information click here.


Connacht Rugby v. Glasgow

Connacht are back on the road this weekend as they travel to Glasgow to take on the Warriors. It’s a clash of 6th v 7th in the race for the top 6. It’s a must win for Connacht as they sit seven points behind Glasgow and two points ahead of Glasgow with a game in hand on both sides. Kieran Marmion will be hoping to continue his sensational form after a world class preformance against England last weekend. Kickoff is 5:15pm on Saturday.
